Austin, Texas – December 2, 2020 – Wi-Fi Alliance® welcomes the decision by the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) to make 480 MHz of spectrum in the 6 GHz band available for wireless LAN operations including Wi-Fi®. The decision provides spectrum capacity for the next generation of Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6E) to deliver innovative applications and use cases that will transform the connectivity landscape for German consumers and enterprises. Wi-Fi Alliance looks forward to working with BNetza to enable introduction of numerous Wi-Fi 6E products to support a wide range of applications ranging from health, automotive, smart cities, AR/VR and beyond.
