Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ wireless LANs have experienced incredible growth since the first products were certified in March of 2000, said Dennis Eaton, Chairman of the Wi-Fi Alliance. Although much has been accomplished to date, the number of Alliance initiatives continues to increase. To address this, the Alliance Board of Directors recognized that it would need additional senior management leadership.
After an extensive search for qualified candidates, we are very pleased to announce that Frank Hanzlik has joined the Wi-Fi Alliance as its first Managing Director. Frank brings a broad range of wireless and high technology product and service experience that will further enhance the Alliances position in the industry. We look forward to his leadership as the organization faces future opportunities and challenges, continued Eaton.
The explosive growth of wireless LANs is creating tremendous business opportunity and enabling a level of unprecedented connectivity freedom, said Frank Hanzlik, Wi-Fi Alliance Managing Director. †Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ products and services are at the cornerstone of this growth, enabling proven product interoperability and a great user experience.† I am very excited to lead this prestigious organization and take our current successes to the next level.

About the Wi-Fi Alliance
The Wi-Fi Alliance (formerly WECA) is a nonprofit organization formed in 1999 to certify interoperability of IEEE 802.11 products and to promote them as the global, wireless LAN standard across all market segments.
The Wi-Fi Alliance has instituted a test suite that defines how member products are tested to certify that they are interoperable with other Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ products. These tests are conducted at an independent laboratory.
Membership in the Wi-Fi Alliance is open to all companies that support the 802.11 family of standards. The Wi-Fi Alliance now comprises over 180 members from the worlds leading companies.† These companies offer over 740 Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ products.† For more information, please visit www.wi-fi.org.
